Hyderabad FC and Kerala Blasters FC drew 1-1 at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium in their last league-stage match of
Indian Super League 2024-25. As a result, Kerala Blasters finished eighth with 29 points, while Hyderabad FC ended second-last with 18 points.
Kerala Blasters Strike First
Right from the start, Kerala Blasters attacked aggressively. Korou Singh and Mohammed Aimen combined well to create early pressure. In the seventh minute, Aimen’s shot was deflected for a corner. Subsequently, he delivered the ball into the box, and Dušan Lagator headed it into the bottom right corner, giving Kerala the lead.
Hyderabad FC Responds
As the game progressed, Aimen and Adrian Luna connected around the 20th minute. Luna passed from 35 yards out. Aimen took a long shot; however, Arshdeep Singh saved it. Later, in the 44th minute, Aimen set up Luna, who fired a left-footed shot. Although the attempt was on target, it lacked power. As a result, Hyderabad FC quickly built an attack. After the break, Luna continued to create chances. He set up Noah Sadaoui in the final third, but Sadaoui’s shot lacked power. Meanwhile, in the 52nd minute, Luna conceded a foul, giving Hyderabad FC a penalty. Andrei Alba stepped up; however, Nora Fernandes saved the shot.
Nevertheless, Hyderabad FC remained determined to score again. In the 62nd minute, Cy Goddard crossed the ball to Alex Saji. Unfortunately, Saji’s header lacked accuracy, and Fernandes made another save.
Final Moments and Draw
As the match neared its conclusion, Edmilson Correia had a golden chance in the 88th minute. Ayush Adhikari passed the ball to him inside the box. However, Correia shot high and wide. Consequently, both teams had to settle for a draw.
