Nitish Kumar Reddy once struggled to get a photo with Virat Kohli due to strict security. However, in a recent chat on Puma’s YouTube channel, he recalled a heartwarming moment from the Naman Under-16 awards. Virat attended the event with his wife, Anushka Sharma, making it a memorable experience for Nitish.

A Young Fan’s Determination

At just 16 years old, Nitish eagerly wanted a proper photo with Virat. However, he couldn’t resist taking a quick picture in any way possible. He explained, “I was 16 at that time and I wanted a proper photo with him [Virat Kohli] but I can't keep myself holding, of not taking a picture.” Since he didn’t have a phone, he borrowed his uncle’s. Then, he cleverly tried to take a selfie with Virat in the background. “He was sitting right behind me. I took my uncle’s phone and tried to take a selfie without him noticing,” he added.

Anushka Sharma’s Kind Gesture

Later on, Nitish desperately wanted a proper picture. Unfortunately, security remained tight, and no one could get close to Virat. He recalled, “I really wanted a good picture with him, but there were bodyguards, and it was his prime time, so no one could get near him.” Just then, Anushka noticed his struggle. Without hesitation, she approached him and said, “Come, I will give you a picture.” Nitish was both surprised and grateful. “That was a great moment. I didn't expect that she would come and give a picture,” he added.

A Full-Circle Moment

Although Nitish never mentioned this incident to Virat or Anushka afterward, his sister, Tejaswi, later told Anushka about it and even showed her the picture.

Years later, Nitish achieved a major milestone by scoring his first international century against Australia in the Boxing Day Test. Coincidentally, Anushka was there with her family. She even posed with Nitish’s father, Mutyala, and his sister, Tejaswi. His father proudly shared the picture on social media, calling it “A lovely moment.” Meanwhile, Anushka was in Australia with her children, Vamika and Akaay, making the occasion even more special.
