After her breakup with Arjun Kapoor in 2024, Malaika Arora began posting meaningful messages online. Recently, she shared a quote that emphasizes inner peace and emotional well-being.
She reposted a message from Womantainment on Instagram:
“The older you get, the more you choose calm over conflict and distance over disrespect. Drama becomes intolerable to you, and your peace becomes your ultimate priority. You start surrounding yourself with people who are good for your mental health, heart, and soul.”
Mixed Reactions Online
Naturally, her post caught attention on Reddit. Some users felt surprised by the quote. One commented, “Thought her and Arjun would be endgame. Imagine Janhvi and Malaika as sisters-in-law.” Another wrote, “What she is realising in her 50s, I realised in my 20s. We are not the same.” Someone else remarked, “She is still doing teenage stuff.”
Arjun Confirms Breakup
Eventually, Arjun Kapoor confirmed the breakup publicly. During promotions for Singham Again, he spoke to the paparazzi and said,
“Nahin ab main single hoon, relax karo (No, I am now single. Relax).”
Malaika Responds with Grace
Meanwhile, Malaika responded to his statement with poise. She respected Arjun’s choice to speak about their relationship.
“I will never choose a public platform to talk about my personal life. So, whatever Arjun has said is entirely his prerogative,” she told ETimes.
She Advocates for Financial Independence
Later, in a separate interview with Curly Tales, Malaika discussed the value of independence in a relationship. She stressed the importance of keeping financial matters separate.
“Independent rakho baba (Be independent). Jo tera hai voh tera hai, jo mera hai voh mera hai (What is yours is yours, and what is mine is mine),” she said.
She Urges Women to Keep Their Identity
Furthermore, Malaika pointed out how couples often lose their individuality after marriage. However, she believes it’s crucial to maintain one’s identity.
“It’s good that you’re doing things together but that doesn’t mean you kind of give up your entire identity and take on someone else’s. As it is you’re taking on somebody else’s last name, right? So I think the least you can do is hang on to your own bank account,” she added.
