A dust storm hit New Delhi on Friday evening, causing sudden changes in weather. As a result, Mumbai Indians' practice session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium faced disruption.
As the storm intensified, MI players and support staff scrambled for safety. Deepak Chahar, Mahela Jayawardene, and Lasith Malinga ran to the dugout. During the chaos, Rohit Sharma humorously shouted, “Come back, come back!”, urging them to return.
Meanwhile, the cameraman focused on Rohit. The former MI captain, smiling through the situation, joked, “Abey mera kya dekh raha hai, woh video le (Why are you taking my video, record that),” as he pointed to the swirling dust.
Soon after, MI shared the video on social media. Fans quickly praised Rohit’s sense of humor despite the challenging situation.
Flight Disruptions Due to Weather
In addition, the storm impacted air travel in the national capital. Reports confirmed that 15 flights were diverted, and many others were delayed.
Following the storm, the weather department released an advisory. They warned citizens, “Do not take shelter under trees, do not lie on concrete floors and lean against concrete walls. Unplug electrical appliances. Immediately get out of water bodies.”
MI’s Struggles Continue
Meanwhile, MI continues to struggle in the IPL 2025 season. The team has won just one out of five matches so far. As they prepare to face Delhi Capitals on Sunday, they hope to avoid a third straight defeat.
Despite the return of Jasprit Bumrah, MI hasn’t found their rhythm. Hardik Pandya’s captaincy has come under scrutiny, with many questioning his strategies and decisions.
Overall, the team looks under pressure. Sunday’s match could be crucial in turning their season around.
