Ahaan Panday, brother of Ananya Panday, is all set to enter the Hindi film industry with his debut film Saiyaara. The romantic drama is directed by Mohit Suri, who is known for hits like Aashiqui 2, and will be released in theatres worldwide on July 18, 2025.

The film is being produced by the well-known banner Yash Raj Films (YRF). It is the first time that YRF is teaming up with director Mohit Suri. Interestingly, Saiyaara also marks the debut production venture of YRF’s CEO, Akshaye Widhani.

YRF announced the project through an official statement, saying, “Yash Raj Films’ romantic film Saiyaara, which introduces Ahaan Panday in the Hindi film industry & also stars Aneet Padda as the female lead, is set to release on July 18, 2025, in theatres worldwide. Presented by Aditya Chopra, Directed by Mohit Suri & Produced by Akshaye Widhani, Saiyaara is an intense love story that brings YRF and Mohit Suri together for the first time!”

A Fresh Pairing

The film features Ahaan Panday opposite newcomer Aneet Padda. She has earlier appeared in the web series Big Girls Don’t Cry and also acted in Salaam Venky (2022). This fresh pairing is expected to bring youthful energy to the screen.

Years of Preparation

Before stepping into the spotlight, Ahaan trained under Aditya Chopra for over six years. He didn’t just prepare as an actor — he also worked behind the scenes. Ahaan was an Assistant Director on several projects, including The Railway Men, Mardaani 2, and Freaky Ali. This behind-the-scenes experience helped him understand how the film industry works.

Auditions and Director’s Approval

Before being finalized for the role, Ahaan went through several rounds of auditions and screen tests with Mohit Suri. A trade source shared that Mohit Suri wanted to see whether Ahaan could carry a romantic film on his shoulders. After watching his performances during the tests, the director was impressed. The source said, “Mohit wanted a fresh, young boy who had the charisma to be a hero on the big screen, and he is supremely excited about Ahaan’s potential.”

After the announcement, Ananya Panday shared her happiness on social media and welcomed her brother into the industry. Ahaan’s sister, Alanna Panday, also posted that she had been waiting for this day for a long time.
