Kerry Morgan, once the closest friend of singer Cassie Ventura, has accused rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs of violently assaulting her. She made the claims during her testimony in a Manhattan federal court on Monday as Combs’ sex trafficking trial resumed.
Diddy Allegedly Sought Proof of Cheating
Morgan alleged that Combs attacked her because he believed Cassie was cheating on him. She said the incident happened inside Ventura’s Hollywood apartment. According to her, “He attacked me from behind, choked me, and left his finger marks on my neck. When I got up, he boomeranged a hanger at my head,” the New York Post reported.
Morgan Suffered a Concussion
After the assault, Morgan went to an urgent care center. Doctors diagnosed her with a concussion. She added that she felt dizzy and even vomited several times due to the impact.
Friendship Turned Cold
Morgan and Cassie had been close since they were teens and modeling together in New York City. However, a few days after the incident, they met again at a pizza shop in Hollywood. Morgan shared, “Cassie accused me of over-exaggerating.”
Despite being upset, Morgan said she initially prepared to sue Combs. But she dropped the plan after he gave her $30,000. She also revealed that, “Cassie had me sign a non-disclosure agreement and that was the last time we ever spoke to each other, ending our friendship which started when we were 15 and 16.”
Morgan Still Feels Hurt
Morgan told the jury, “I draw my line at physical abuse. I don’t know why she doesn’t reach out to me. I’m sure she doesn’t have the same phone number anymore.” Meanwhile, Cassie ended her relationship with Diddy in 2018. Later, she filed a lawsuit accusing him of abuse. That case ended with a $20 million settlement.
