Seth Rogen Opens Up About Unusual Meeting with Tom Cruise
Seth Rogen reveals a bizarre meeting with Tom Cruise that shifted from movie talks to Scientology and conspiracy theories.

Actor Seth Rogen who has been getting attention for his new series, The Studio, which explores the hidden side of Hollywood. Rogen, known for being honest about his life in the film industry, recently shared a strange experience involving Tom Cruise.

Unexpected Turn in Cruise Meeting

Rogen and director Judd Apatow once met with Cruise to talk about making a comedy movie. But the discussion took an unexpected turn. Instead of sticking to movie ideas, Cruise began speaking about Scientology.

Scientology Comes into the Conversation

Rogen remembered how the meeting shifted after a few hours. He said, “We had a long meeting with him, and a couple of hours into it, the Scientology stuff comes up…” Cruise then reportedly said, “If you just let me tell you what it was really about and give me 20 minutes, you would say no f***** way.” This caught both Rogen and Apatow off guard. They weren’t expecting to hear about religion and certainly weren’t planning to convert.

Cruise’s Accusation Against the Pharma Industry

Later in the meeting, Cruise changed topics again. This time, he claimed pharmaceutical companies were targeting him. Rogen said Cruise told them, “They’re scrambling, and they’re doing everything they can to discredit me so I won’t hurt sales anymore.”

Cruise blamed the industry for making him look bad, especially after his past statements against antidepressants. He also referred to his 2006 appearance on Oprah, where he famously jumped on a couch.

A Surprising Comparison

Rogen asked about that Oprah incident. Cruise responded by saying the media edited the clip to damage his image. Even more surprisingly, Cruise compared his situation to Louis Farrakhan’s. Farrakhan, known for leading the Nation of Islam, has made many anti-Semitic remarks. Rogen commented, “Of all the strange sentences I’ve heard in my life, Tom Cruise name-dropping Louis Farrakhan is top three.”

Apatow Redirects the Conversation

Rogen admitted that he doesn’t handle such situations well. He said he was grateful Judd Apatow was there to help. “Thank god Judd was like, ‘Eh, I think we’re good. Let’s just talk about movies and stuff.’”

Cruise’s Long History with Scientology

Tom Cruise has followed Scientology since 1986. His first wife, Mimi Rogers, introduced him to the religion. Cruise once described Scientology as “beautiful” and has remained one of its most well-known supporters.
