Russian Railways Blames Illegal Interference
Russian Railways said the train’s engine and multiple coaches derailed due to the “collapse of a span structure of the road bridge as a result of an illegal interference in the operation of transport.” The railway company shared this information on Telegram.
Emergency Teams Rushed to the Site
Regional governor Alexander Bogomaz confirmed the incident through his Telegram channel. He said rescue teams reached the site quickly. The derailment took place near a major federal highway, which made it easier for emergency services to access the area. Russia’s emergency ministry also stated that several rescue units were working at the location.
Possible Sabotage Under Investigation
Russian news agencies RIA and TASS reported that the train’s driver was among the dead. In addition, independent Telegram channels Baza and SHOT, which often cite law enforcement sources, claimed the bridge may have been intentionally blown up. However, officials have not confirmed this claim.
Shocking Images from the Scene
Photos released by government agencies showed destroyed train coaches scattered around the debris of the collapsed bridge. Meanwhile, videos posted on social media captured the dramatic moments just before the collapse. Some vehicles were seen narrowly avoiding disaster seconds before the structure gave way.
