Putin Proposes Peace Plan for Iran and Israel Amid Rising Tensions
Putin offered to mediate the Iran-Israel conflict, but Trump told him to first solve Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. He said both countries could find a solution that works for them. He offered Russia’s help in mediating the talks.

The conflict between the two nations has continued for nearly a week, with both sides launching attacks. Speaking at a roundtable with global news editors, Putin said, “This is a delicate issue, and of course we need to be very careful here, but in my opinion, a solution can be found.”

Putin Refuses to Talk About Khamenei Assassination Reports

Reports claim Israel and the US discussed plans to target Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. When asked about this, Putin refused to comment.

He firmly stated, “I do not even want to discuss this possibility. I do not want to.”

He also said Iranian citizens are rallying behind their leadership. He told AFP, “We see that today in Iran there is a consolidation of society around the country's political leadership.”

Russia Shares Peace Proposal

Putin revealed that Russia has already shared its proposal for peace. The plan was sent to Iran, Israel, and the United States. It aims to let Iran keep a peaceful nuclear program while also addressing Israel’s security concerns.

“We are not imposing anything on anyone, we are simply talking about how we see a possible way out of the situation,” Putin said.

“But the decision, of course, is up to the political leadership of all these countries, primarily Iran and Israel,” he told the Associated Press.

Israel Justifies Military Strikes

Last Friday, Israel carried out airstrikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites. The operation, called ‘Operation Rising Lion’, was launched in response to Iran’s nuclear program.

Israel said Iran was close to developing nuclear weapons. It described this as an “existential threat” to its survival.

Trump Rejects Putin’s Offer

While Putin made his offer to help mediate, US President Donald Trump turned it down. He said Putin should first fix Russia’s war with Ukraine.

Speaking at the White House, Trump said, “I spoke to him yesterday and... he actually offered to help mediate, I said 'do me a favor, mediate your own.’”

He added, “I said, ‘Vladimir, let’s mediate Russia first. You can worry about this later.’”
