Deepika Padukone will soon become the first Indian actress to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The world-famous sidewalk in Los Angeles will carry her name in the 2026 class of honourees.

Hollywood Chamber Confirms the News

On Wednesday, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the new list. It includes 35 international celebrities. These stars come from film, television, music, live performance, and sports.

Deepika earned a place in the Motion Pictures category. She joins big names like Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, Demi Moore, and Stanley Tucci.

The Chamber revealed the names during a live stream. Eugenio Derbez and Richard Blade, both Walk of Fame recipients, hosted the announcement.

Deepika’s Name Stands Out

The committee picked the honourees from hundreds of nominations. They chose artists across five categories. Deepika stood out and made history. The Chamber called her the “first Indian actress” to be honoured this way.

Others Honoured in 2026

Besides Deepika, the list includes Molly Ringwald, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Noah Wyle, and Shaquille O’Neal. The hosts of Good Morning America, Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, will receive a joint star.

Two names—special effects artist Carlo Rambaldi and director Tony Scott—will receive stars posthumously.

Deepika’s Hollywood Career

Deepika began her Hollywood journey in 2017. She acted opposite Vin Diesel in XXX: Return of Xander Cage. The film introduced her to global audiences.

Now, the Hollywood Chamber has recognised her global impact. They announced her name live, making her a trailblazer for Indian cinema.

Deepika recently starred in Kalki 2898 AD. The film also featured Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. Nag Ashwin directed the film, which became a pan-India hit.

She will return for the sequel. She will also star with Allu Arjun in Atlee’s next film, currently titled AA22xA6.

Her Family Life

Deepika and Ranveer Singh welcomed their daughter on September 8, 2024. The couple got married in 2018.

They introduced their daughter during Diwali. They named her Dua Padukone Singh. In a heartfelt post, they wrote, “Dua: meaning a prayer. Because she is the answer to our prayers. Our hearts are filled with love and gratitude.”
