A federal court denied bail to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs after a jury found him guilty on two lesser charges of transporting someone for prostitution on Wednesday, July 2. However, the jury also found him not guilty on the three most serious charges of sex trafficking.

Emotional Scene in Court

Soon after the verdict, Diddy showed visible emotion. As reported by CBS News, he dropped to his knees and prayed, leaning on his chair. The courtroom witnessed a dramatic moment.

According to CBS News New York’s Alice Gainer, Diddy celebrated briefly when he heard the first “not guilty”. She said, "Sean Combs pumped his fist at one point when they said that first 'not guilty.' When the jury foreperson, that's juror number five, was the one who was reading the verdict, he pumped his fist."

Family Reacts to the Verdict

Diddy’s family, including his mother, three daughters, sons, and other relatives, attended the trial. Gainer noted, "After the verdict was read and once everyone, the judge and the jury, left the courtroom, man, the applause was thunderous from his family."

Even though Diddy remained by the defense table, unable to embrace his family due to being in custody, they celebrated the partial victory. Gainer added, "They were just cheering. He was clapping. And it's such an interesting visual, because, again, he's by the defense table. It's not like he can run up and hug them. He's not a free man. He was convicted of two of the five counts."

Diddy Speaks to His Family

Following the bail hearing, Diddy turned to his family and encouraged them. According to CNN, he said, “We’re gonna make it through this.” He also added, “I’ll see you when I get out.”

As he prepared to leave the courtroom, Diddy blew kisses to his supporters. He said, “I love you all. Be strong.” Before he was escorted out, he turned to his mother and said, “I love you, mom.”

After the judge left, Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, addressed the rapper’s supporters. He pointed out that the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York rarely loses racketeering cases. He praised Diddy’s courage, saying, “He’ll get his life back.” He added, “Winning is winning. You live your life and you live a good life.”
