A Communist Party of India (CPI) leader, K Chandu Naik, was allegedly shot dead by unknown attackers on Tuesday morning in Hyderabad’s Malakpet area. The 47-year-old leader was on his morning walk when the incident took place.
Attackers Threw Chilli Powder Before Firing
According to police, the attackers arrived in a car. They threw chilli powder in Naik’s eyes to stop him from escaping. Then, they shot him multiple times. Naik died on the spot. The attackers fled immediately after the murder.
Family Points to Old Rivalry
Naik’s wife told the media that he had an old rivalry with a man named Rajesh, who is believed to be linked to CPI (ML). However, police have not confirmed this claim yet.
Naik’s murder has created panic among the local residents. Police are investigating the case but have made no arrests so far.
Separate Case: Congress Leader Found Dead
In a separate case, Congress SC Cell leader Marrelli Anil was found dead under mysterious conditions in Medak district. Bullets were found near his body. Anil had injuries on his chest and shoulder. The police are treating the case as suspicious and are continuing their investigation.
