Authorities discovered 40-year-old Russian woman Nina Kutina and her two young daughters, Preya (6) and Ama (4), living inside a hidden cave near Karnataka’s Gokarna. The family had reportedly stayed there for at least two weeks, deep inside forests and rocky hills. Kutina had taken her children from Goa to Gokarna, a place known for its religious and meditative atmosphere.
Estranged Partner Files Complaint
Kutina’s former partner, Dror Goldstein, who is from Israel, had earlier filed a missing complaint in Goa’s Panaji police station in December. According to Goldstein, he met Kutina in 2017 and fell in love with her. However, their relationship later soured. He accused Kutina of keeping their daughters away from him deliberately.
Goldstein Questions Children’s Education
Goldstein told the police that Kutina never cared about their daughters’ education. He alleged, “She (Nina) had shown no concern towards their formal education… She was totally against sending her children to school or other educational institutions, and whenever asked, she would say that she doesn’t believe in formal education.”
Concerns About Girls’ Health and Social Life
Goldstein further expressed fears about the physical and emotional well-being of his daughters. He claimed, “They are not in school and spend all their time with their mother and her few friends, and not in the company of children of their age. They are not allowed to socialise and are kept in a closed group.”
He also said he wanted to be part of his daughters’ lives and support them both financially and emotionally. “I am filing this missing complaint to know about the exact whereabouts, location and condition of my minor daughters,” he added.
Goldstein alleged that Kutina was “brainwashing” their daughters and instructing them to avoid meeting him.
Kutina Defends Her Parenting
On her side, Kutina defended her decisions. She earlier told reporters that she planned to homeschool her children in the future. Kutina said, “They are very smart, healthy, and talented. Everyone who meets them says so.”
In short, while Goldstein accused Kutina of isolating their children and denying them education, Kutina insisted that her daughters were healthy and thriving under her care.
