Cash Cobain Calls Justin Bieber ‘Mad Cool’ After Unexpected Collaboration
Cash Cobain praised Justin Bieber as “mad cool” after joining him for an impromptu music session that led to their surprise collaboration on Bieber’s Swag album.

Justin Bieber recently worked with rapper Cash Cobain on his surprise album Swag. Their collaboration began when Bieber noticed Cobain’s track Trippin on a Yacht online and messaged him to suggest working together.

How It Started

Cash Cobain explained to GQ, “I wrote bro like, ‘We got to get some work in.’ So I’m like, all right, boom—took bro’s number down and then we was chopping it up for, I don’t know, a couple days.” Soon after, they planned their first session.

Studio Session at Bieber’s Home

Eventually, Cobain visited Bieber’s home, where the singer lives with Hailey Bieber and their baby, Jack Blues. There, several other producers and rappers also joined the session. Cobain described the relaxed vibe, saying, “We was just sitting in a circle, [passing] the mic and just saying s* on the beat. I was just saying mad dumb s***.”**

Bieber’s Down-to-Earth Attitude

Cobain admitted he was surprised by Bieber’s laid-back style. He said, “You might think Justin Bieber would be on some other s*, but bro is mad cool. It was just natural… He was just like, ‘Swag. Swag, bro.’ He on some swag s***. That’s [all] him right there.”**

Song Created on Day One

Interestingly, the song they recorded together was created during their very first day. Cobain said, “That was just off the first day we met, for real.” He praised the music’s unique style, saying, “That first song is like a ‘90s type beat. They went crazy—I’ve never heard nobody really try to emulate that sound.”

Bieber Enjoys Creative Freedom

Meanwhile, Bieber worked on this album with full creative freedom. After breaking ties with Scooter Braun, he no longer faced pressure to deliver hit singles. A source told Rolling Stone, “Breaking away from Scooter Braun and his team has been something that Justin has wanted for so long, and now that he’s fully free, he could finally share this album with his fans and with the world.”

New Music Without Stress

Finally, the source added, “Not having to stress about creating the perfect single, or perfect album, allowed for him to create the best body of music he’s ever made.”
