The Israeli military has decided to introduce daily pauses in its operations in Gaza. This step comes amid rising international concerns over the worsening humanitarian crisis.
Pauses Begin July 27
Starting July 27, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will pause operations daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in three areas: Al-Mawasi, Deir al-Balah, and Gaza City. Although the IDF claims it is not conducting active missions in these zones, recent airstrikes and clashes have been reported there.
Safe Routes Open for Aid
Moreover, the military will open "secure routes" for both humanitarian aid and civilian movement. These routes will operate daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. This initiative has been coordinated with the United Nations and other international groups, aiming to increase aid access and ensure safer passage for civilians.
Military Operations Continue Elsewhere
However, the IDF confirmed it will continue fighting in other parts of Gaza. “The IDF will continue offensive operations against terror groups while supporting humanitarian efforts,” the military stated. Furthermore, it said it is ready to expand the pauses if needed, based on the situation on the ground.
A Step to Ease Suffering
Overall, this move is meant to balance military actions with humanitarian concerns. As pressure from the international community grows, Israel is taking steps to allow more aid to reach civilians trapped in the conflict zone.
