Gunman Opens Fire in Midtown Manhattan Office Tower, Injures Three
A gunman opened fire inside a Midtown Manhattan office building, injuring three people and sparking a major emergency response.

A gunman shot three people, including a New York City police officer, on Monday evening. The shooting took place inside a high-rise building on Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. This building houses major companies like Blackstone, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan, the NFL, and the Irish Consulate.

Emergency Response Begins Quickly

Soon after the shots were fired, the New York Fire Department received a call around 6:30 pm. As a result, emergency crews rushed to the scene. Police also arrived quickly. However, they have not released further details yet.

Evacuation Scenes Unfolded

Meanwhile, television footage showed people exiting the building with their hands raised. Officers guided them out for safety. Clearly, the scene was tense and chaotic.

Federal and City Leaders React

At the same time, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino posted online. He said agents were helping with the “active crime scene.” Additionally, Mayor Eric Adams confirmed an “active shooter investigation” was in progress. He urged everyone in the area to stay indoors and follow safety instructions.

Public Warned of Delays

As a precaution, the city’s emergency alert system warned of traffic problems. It also noted road closures and delays in public transportation around the area.
