Prince Harry Allegedly Gave Prince Andrew a Bloody Nose During 2013 Clash
A new book claims Prince Harry punched Prince Andrew during a heated 2013 argument, deepening long-standing royal family tensions.

Long before Prince Harry openly criticized the royal family in his memoir Spare, he reportedly got into a physical fight with another royal—Prince Andrew. A new book titled The Rise and Fall of the House of York by author Andrew Lownie reveals fresh details about serious tensions within the royal family.

According to the book, the clash took place in 2013 during a family event. The disagreement quickly turned into a heated argument between Harry and his uncle, Prince Andrew. Things escalated, and reportedly, “punches were thrown.” The confrontation ended with Prince Andrew suffering a bloody nose.

Harry Allegedly Landed the Blow

The Telegraph, citing anonymous sources, reported that Harry came out on top during the fight. “Harry got the better of Andrew by all accounts,” the source told the publication. The physical fight was eventually broken up, but not before Andrew was hit in the face.

Andrew’s Harsh Remarks Made Things Worse

The tension didn’t stop with the fight. The book claims Prince Andrew later insulted Meghan Markle and doubted the couple's future. He reportedly told Harry that his marriage to Meghan would not “last more than a month.” He also allegedly said Harry had gone “bonkers” and didn’t do “any due diligence into her past” before marrying her in 2018.

Following this, Harry reportedly told his brother Prince William, “he hated Andrew.”

Years of Friction Within the Royal Family

Andrew Lownie writes that there had been years of bad blood between Prince Andrew and his nephews, especially William and Harry. The author also claims Andrew often acted rudely toward Princess Kate. His behavior—both in private and public—has long irritated many royals, particularly William.

According to Lownie, “William has long worked behind the scenes to evict his uncle from Royal Lodge, the home he occupies in Windsor Great Park. He thinks Andrew is abusing the property and his privilege there.”

Royal Lodge Drama Adds to Family Strain

Prince Andrew lives in the Royal Lodge, a 30-room mansion located in Windsor Great Park. However, his position there has become unstable. King Charles reportedly cut off Andrew’s £1 million annual allowance, which increased financial pressure and brought more attention to Andrew’s use of the property.

This development, as Lownie suggests, gave Prince William more reason—and influence—to push for Andrew’s eviction.

This Isn’t Harry’s First Physical Fight

This isn't the only time Harry has been involved in a physical altercation. In his own memoir Spare, Harry shared that Prince William had pushed him during an argument in 2019. That fight, sparked by a disagreement over Meghan, ended with Harry falling onto the floor at Kensington Palace.

Palace Stays Silent

So far, Buckingham Palace has not responded to these latest claims. And, as with many royal controversies, it’s unlikely they will. However, if the details in Lownie’s book are accurate, they suggest that royal tensions—both emotional and physical—have been simmering for years. The latest revelations offer another glimpse into how deeply fractured the royal family may truly be.
