Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Thursday visited the Mumbai home of his long-time bodyguard Shera to pay his last respects after Shera’s father, Sunder Singh Jolly, passed away at the age of 88.
Shera’s Father Passes Away After Cancer Battle
Sunder Singh Jolly died on Thursday after battling cancer. His cremation was held the same day at Oshiwara Crematorium in Jogeshwari West, Mumbai. Later in the day, Salman arrived at Shera’s residence to express his condolences. Several videos shared on social media show the actor reaching the building in his car with a heavy security team. Shera greeted him at the entrance, and Salman immediately hugged him before entering the house to pay his respects. The videos also captured Salman leaving after the visit.
Shera had announced his father’s death on social media, writing, “My father Shri Sunder Singh Jolly has left for heavenly abode today.”
Who is Shera?
Shera, whose real name is Gurmeet Singh Jolly, has been Salman Khan’s personal bodyguard and head of security since 1995. He also runs his own security company, Tiger Security, which has served several celebrities. In 2017, Shera oversaw the security arrangements for pop star Justin Bieber’s Mumbai concert.
Before joining the security profession, Shera was a successful bodybuilder, winning the Mumbai junior title in 1987 and securing second place in Mr Maharashtra Junior in 1988. He became a professional bodyguard in the early 1990s before beginning his long association with Salman Khan.

Salman was last seen in AR Murugadoss’ Sikandar, which starred Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sathyaraj. The film collected ₹176 crore against a budget of ₹200 crore, making it a box office disappointment. He is set to host Bigg Boss 19 and is currently working on his next film, Battle of Galwan.
