Linda Hamilton Reflects on Career, Admits Feeling Tired but Not Ready to Retire
Linda Hamilton, famed for The Terminator, refuses to slow down as she juggles films and TV, with her next big role in the Stranger Things finale set for November and December.

Linda Hamilton will forever be associated with her legendary portrayal of Sarah Connor in The Terminator series, especially Judgment Day and Dark Fate. These films made her a Hollywood icon. After their success, she moved into television roles.

Reluctance to Slow Down

Despite her age, Hamilton has no intention of retiring. She is currently balancing multiple projects but admits she feels “really, really tired.” However, she believes stopping work would be harder than keeping busy.

Speaking in an interview, she shared, “I worked straight for three years, ’cause I was doing Resident Alien and Stranger Things the same year. And I sneaked in another film while I was doing Stranger Things, and then I had to go straight off and finish off Resident Alien, and I’m tired. Really, really tired. But retirement is a lot harder than working, it turns out.”

Embracing a New Phase of Life

Hamilton thrives on staying active. Now that her children are grown, she can fully focus on her career — something she always wanted. Without the demands of parenting alongside work, she can prepare for her roles with complete dedication. This freedom, she says, has deepened her love for acting.

The actress is currently featured in the science fiction film Osiris, a role that came to her unexpectedly. She revealed, “I replaced an actor who had a medical problem, so they came to me very last minute. They offered me that actor’s price. We didn’t even negotiate. They were in a pickle, so it was a lot of money to step in, with maybe 10 days’ notice and three hard days of work. I loved working with the dialect coach and I loved going into a terrifying job with mouthfuls and mouthfuls of stuff, more than I’ve said in my entire career and treating it like a piece of theatre and going in with my s— together and with everything memorised so I can just play with it, like it’s onstage.”

Upcoming Role in Stranger Things Finale

Looking ahead, Hamilton will take part in the much-anticipated final season of Stranger Things. The series finale will release in two parts, with the first arriving in November and the second in December. Fans are eager to see her bring her talent and energy to the show’s closing chapter, marking another exciting milestone in her long and celebrated career.
