Arjun Tendulkar Gets Engaged to Saaniya Chandok in Private Ceremony
Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, got engaged to Saaniya Chandok in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends.

Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, got engaged to Saaniya Chandok on Wednesday, according to India Today. The ceremony was small and attended only by close family and friends.

Saaniya Chandok is the granddaughter of Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai. The Ghai family owns the InterContinental hotel and the ice cream brand Brooklyn Creamery. Moreover, they are well-known in the hospitality and food sectors.

So far, neither the Tendulkar family nor the Ghai family has made an official announcement. Earlier on the same day, Arjun shared an Instagram story of himself at bowling practice, captioned: “Just cricket ground.” Additionally, his last post was a Rakshabandhan video with his sister Sara. In it, he tried to apply makeup on her. The clip was captioned: “Happy Rakshabandhan from this chaotic duo.”

Following His Father’s Footsteps

Sachin Tendulkar also married young. At 19, he asked Anjali’s mother, Annabelle Mehta, for permission to marry her. However, he waited until 1995, when he was 22, to tie the knot.

Arjun’s Cricket Career

Arjun, 25, is a left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder. He represents Goa in domestic cricket. In 17 First Class matches, he has taken 37 wickets at 33.51 and scored 532 runs at 23.13. Notably, he scored a century on his Ranji Trophy debut for Goa against Rajasthan in 2022. Interestingly, this mirrored his father’s achievement of scoring a century on his Ranji debut 34 years earlier, for Mumbai against Gujarat in 1988.

In 18 List A games, Arjun took 25 wickets at 31.32 and scored 102 runs in 10 innings. Meanwhile, in 24 T20 matches, he claimed 27 wickets at 25.07 and scored 119 runs in 11 innings.

Indian Premier League Journey

Arjun has also played for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Initially, the franchise bought him in the 2021 auction for INR 20 lakh. He made his debut in 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders. During the same season, he took his first IPL wicket, dismissing Bhuvneshwar Kumar against Sunrisers Hyderabad in a 14-run win. He took two more wickets in IPL 2023 and played one match in 2024. Although the franchise released him before the 2025 season, they brought him back in the mega auction for INR 30 lakh.

Saaniya Chandok’s Low-Key Profile

Saaniya comes from one of Mumbai’s prominent business families. In addition, she maintains a low public profile despite her family’s fame in business.
