Trump Urges NATO to Act, Calls for Heavy Tariffs on China Over Ukraine War
Trump urged NATO to act firmly against Russia and proposed heavy tariffs on China to pressure Moscow to end the war.

US President Donald Trump called on NATO allies to take strict action against Russia. He suggested imposing steep tariffs, between 50% and 100%, on Chinese goods until the Russia-Ukraine war ends.

Trump Pressures NATO Allies

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Washington was ready to push new sanctions on Russia. However, he stressed that this would only happen if European nations stopped buying Russian oil and joined the US in taking united steps.

“As you know, NATO’s commitment to win has been far less than 100 per cent, and the purchase of Russian oil, by some, has been shocking! Anyway, I am ready to ‘go’ when you are. Just say when,” Trump wrote.

Call for Tariffs on China

Trump urged NATO to punish China with heavy tariffs. He claimed Beijing holds “a strong control, and even grip, over Russia.” According to him, these tariffs should remain in place until peace returns.

Criticism of the War

Trump described the Russia-Ukraine conflict as a “deadly, but ridiculous war.” He alleged that 7,118 people were killed in the past week alone. Blaming current leaders, he said, “The war would never have started under my leadership,” calling it “Biden’s and Zelenskyy’s war.”

Trump Offers to End the Conflict

Trump said he only wanted to stop the fighting and save lives. “I am only here to help stop it, and save thousands of Russian and Ukrainian lives. If NATO does as I say, the war will end quickly… If not, you are just wasting my time, and the time, energy, and money of the United States,” he stated.
