‘I Am Doing OK’: Lola Young Speaks After Collapsing on Stage
British singer Lola Young collapsed on stage during a New York performance, later reassuring fans she was doing OK after being rushed off by medical staff.

British singer Lola Young, 24, gave fans a major scare during her performance at the All Things Go Music Festival in New York on September 27. While singing her song Conceited, she suddenly collapsed on stage.

Medical staff rushed to help her and carried her away, leaving many in the audience deeply concerned about her condition. Later, Lola posted a short message on social media to calm her fans’ fears. “Hi, for anyone who saw my set at All Things Go today, I am doing OK now," she wrote.
“Thank you for all of your support, Lola xxx." However, she did not reveal the reason for her collapse.

Hints of Personal Struggles

Before the incident, Lola hinted at emotional struggles she had been facing recently. Speaking to the crowd during her set, she said, “Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue, but you know what, today I woke up and I made the decision to come here, and I wanted to be cool … and sometimes life can throw you lemons, and you just gotta make lemonade." Her words gave fans a glimpse into her mindset before the frightening moment.

Recent Concert Cancellation

The collapse happened just one day after Lola canceled a scheduled performance at Audacy’s We Can Survive concert on September 26. At the time, her manager, Nick Shymansky, explained the situation in a statement on Instagram. “There are [occasionally] days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe. She is an incredible person and always takes her fans, career and performances seriously. I can only send huge apologies for the inconvenience caused," he wrote, describing the issue as a “sensitive matter.”

Open About Mental Health Battles

Lola Young has spoken openly about her struggles with mental health. She revealed she was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder when she was 17. In past statements, she described how the diagnosis affected her life and career.

“I can’t find the words to describe how much this diagnosis has affected my entire life, and my outlook on the world around me. I have struggled immensely learning to accept this part of myself, and I am still learning," she said.

She added, “I have to remind myself that I am a regular f-person, I am human and I am, like everyone, capable of incredible things, my mental health condition does not define me. It is my superpower."

Lola has admitted she often experiences “crazy f highs and immense lows.”

According to the Cleveland Clinic, schizoaffective disorder combines symptoms of schizophrenia, like psychosis, with mood disorders such as depression or mania. Treatment usually includes therapy and medication.
