‘Sheesh Mahal 2.0’: BJP Slams Kejriwal, AAP Hits Back with Sharp Rebuttal
BJP accused Arvind Kejriwal of using Punjab’s funds to build a luxury mansion in Chandigarh, calling it “Sheesh Mahal 2.0,” while AAP dismissed the charge as fake and politically motivated.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a fierce attack on former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. It accused him of using Punjab government funds to build a lavish two-acre mansion in Chandigarh. The party dubbed the property “Sheesh Mahal 2.0.”

BJP Intensifies Its Attack

The BJP’s criticism came soon after former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal made serious allegations. She claimed that Kejriwal had been allotted a “luxurious 7-star government mansion” in Chandigarh’s Sector 2 under the Chief Minister’s quota.

Soon after, the BJP took to X to mock Kejriwal’s public image as a “common man.” The party wrote, “Sheesh Mahal 2.0. After getting a Rs 52 crore Sheesh Mahal built in Delhi, now Kejriwal will lounge in a 7-star government mansion spanning 2 acres in Chandigarh. The royal luxuries of Sir Ji, who puts on a drama of being an ordinary man in front of the public, show no signs of diminishing at all.”

The BJP also shared satellite photos of the mansion, calling Kejriwal the “Super CM.” It further added, “Kejriwal is neither a minister nor an MLA, yet his attachment to opulent palaces, regal comforts, and luxury doesn’t seem to let go.”

AAP Hits Back

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) quickly hit back at the BJP’s claims. It denied all allegations and said the building in question was the CM’s camp office, not a personal residence.

AAP said on X, “Ever since the Prime Minister’s fake Yamuna story was exposed, the BJP seems to have lost its cool. And in its frustration, the BJP these days is faking everything.”

The party continued, “Fake Yamuna, fake pollution figures, fake claims of rainfall, and now fake 7-star claims. The BJP’s fake claim is that they’ve built a 7-star house in Chandigarh, but the Chandigarh administration is under the BJP. Only they can get something built – no one else.”

Furthermore, AAP challenged BJP to provide evidence. “The BJP’s fake claim is that Kejriwal ji has been allotted a house, so where is the allotment letter? By sharing a photo of the CM’s camp office, the frustrated BJP is making all sorts of fake claims,” the party stated.

Maliwal Adds Fuel to the Fire

Swati Maliwal added more fuel to the controversy. She accused Kejriwal of receiving “an even more splendid Sheesh Mahal” in Punjab. On X, she wrote, “In Chandigarh’s Sector 2, a luxurious 7-star government mansion of 2 acres under the CM quota has been allotted to Arvind Kejriwal.”

She further alleged misuse of state resources. “Yesterday, he boarded a government helicopter right from in front of his house for Ambala, and then from Ambala, the Punjab government’s private jet took him to Gujarat for party work. The entire Punjab government is engaged in serving one man,” she claimed.

Past Controversy Over ‘Sheesh Mahal’

This is not the first time Kejriwal has faced criticism over his residence. Earlier, in 2024, BJP leader Vijender Gupta accused him of illegally constructing a luxury home on Flag Staff Road in Delhi.

Gupta alleged that Kejriwal merged government plots, violated building norms, and used public money for luxury interiors. The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) later confirmed irregularities in the project.

He said the case revealed Kejriwal’s lavish lifestyle and demanded a full investigation into what he called “serious corruption.”
