PM Narendra Modi hailed the NDA’s historic Bihar victory as a mandate for “good governance,” saying the alliance has “garda uda diya” with its strongest performance ever in the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday celebrated the BJP-led NDA’s sweeping win in the Bihar assembly election 2025 and declared “garda uda diya,” a Bhojpuri phrase meaning “blew the dust away.” He used the expression to describe the scale of the victory, as results became clear by late evening.

Modi Calls It a Victory of Good Governance

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister posted on X and called the outcome a “victory of good governance.” The NDA, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of the JD(U), had secured a decisive mandate as counting progressed.

According to the latest Election Commission data, the NDA was ahead in, or had already won, around 200 of the 243 seats in the Bihar Assembly. This marked its best performance in the state so far.

PM Thanks Bihar Voters for Their Support

In his post, PM Modi wrote, “Victory of development has been achieved. Victory of the spirit of public welfare has been achieved. Victory of social justice has been achieved.”

He also said, “My deepest gratitude to the family members of Bihar, who have blessed the NDA with a historic and unprecedented victory in the 2025 assembly elections. This resounding public mandate will empower us to serve the people and work with new resolve for Bihar.”

Modi Congratulates NDA Partners

The Prime Minister acknowledged all BJP allies in a series of connected posts. He wrote that the NDA had ensured “all-round development” of Bihar. He added that people supported the alliance because they had seen its work and its vision for the state’s future.

Modi congratulated Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other NDA leaders, saying, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ji and our NDA family colleagues Chirag Paswan ji, Jitan Ram Manjhi ji, and Upendra Kushwaha ji for this resounding victory.”

BJP Highlights the Modi-Nitish Partnership

Earlier, the BJP’s Bihar X handle posted a photo of PM Modi with Nitish Kumar and described the win as a success of the “jodi,” or the duo, signaling the strength of their partnership during the campaign.
