X, earlier known as Twitter, stopped working for many users on Tuesday. Downdetector confirmed a sharp rise in outage reports. Users also rushed to X to check if the platform itself was down.

More than 988 users in India reported problems with X by 5:03 pm. Globally, over 11,320 users flagged issues by 5:05 pm. The platform briefly came back online but went down again soon after. Many users across countries still cannot open X properly.

Cloudflare Disruption Behind the Outage

A technical problem at Cloudflare appears to have caused the breakdown. X has not released any official statement so far.

Cloudflare said it was “aware of, and investigating an issue which impacts multiple customers: Widespread 500 errors, Cloudflare Dashboard and API also failing.” The company added, “We are working to understand the full impact and mitigate this problem. More updates to follow shortly.”

Users React to the Global Crash

Users expressed their confusion and frustration online. One person wrote, “X went down for a minute just now. Even their host server on Cloudflare was down.” Another user said, “Looks like x is down because of cloudflare issues. Downdectector also inaccessible.”

A third user added, “Multiple websites including X go down because of an outage. Even down detector was down.”
