Smriti Mandhana’s Wedding Postponed After Father’s Heart Attack
Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s wedding is postponed indefinitely after her father suffered a heart attack during preparations.

The much-anticipated wedding of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been postponed following a sudden family emergency. Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack while wedding preparations were underway at the Mandhana Farm House in Samdol, Sangli, confirmed Tuhin Mishra, Smriti’s business manager.

Immediate Hospitalization and Current Condition

Mr. Mandhana was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Sangli, where he is under urgent medical care. Sources close to the family said Smriti and her immediate family quickly reached the hospital after hearing the news. The family has stated that Mr. Mandhana’s condition is now stable and under observation, providing some relief amid the tense situation.

Wedding Postponed Indefinitely

The wedding management officially informed the media that today’s ceremony has been called off, with no information yet on when the celebrations will resume. “Today in the morning when he was having breakfast, Smriti Mandhana's father, Mr. Srinivas Mandhana, got unwell. We waited for a while. We thought that maybe it's normal, he will be fine. But he was getting worse. So we thought, let's not take any risk, so we called an ambulance and took him to the hospital. Now he is under observation,” Mishra said.

Smriti Prioritizes Father’s Health

“You know Smriti is very close to her father. She decided that until her father gets well, this marriage, which was supposed to happen today, is indefinitely postponed. Now he is under observation, and the doctor has said that he will have to stay in the hospital. And until he gets well, because we are also in shock, and we want him to recover soon,” Mishra added.

Families Request Privacy

Work to remove decorations from the Samdol wedding venue is underway. Both families have requested privacy to focus on Srinivas Mandhana’s recovery and well-being.

Pre-Wedding Festivities

Smriti and Palash were expected to tie the knot on November 23, with close family and fans in Sangli, Maharashtra. Many members of the Women’s World Cup-winning Indian cricket team had joined Smriti for pre-wedding events. Over the last few days, videos and pictures of the couple’s Bollywood-style celebrations went viral on social media. The remaining ceremonies, including vibrant Haldi, Mehandi events, and friendly cricket matches, have now been indefinitely postponed.
