Celina Jaitly files a domestic violence case against her husband as her brother’s UAE detention keeps her family in the spotlight.

Former actor Celina Jaitly has filed a domestic violence case against her husband, Peter Haag, in the Andheri Judicial Magistrate First Class Court in Mumbai. Haag lives in Austria. The court listed the case on Tuesday before SC Tadye for verification and notice. Celina accuses Haag of domestic violence, cruelty, and manipulation under the Domestic Violence Act. She seeks ₹50 crore in damages. She also demands additional compensation for loss of income and property, according to ANI.

Brother’s Detention in UAE Intensifies Attention

Meanwhile, Celina remains in the public eye because of her brother, Major (Retd.) Vikrant Jaitly. She says authorities in the UAE illegally detained him in September 2024. His detention has drawn strong reactions online and increased media focus on her case.

MEA Offers Support

The Ministry of External Affairs earlier assured support. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said,"Our embassy is seized of the matter. We have been making consular visits to him, and we have done so on four occasions."

Officials said they continue to follow the case closely.

Delhi High Court Intervenes

The Delhi High Court later directed the MEA to provide legal help to Celina’s brother. The court issued the order while hearing her petition seeking government assistance for him. The directive pushed the MEA to speed up its efforts and offer formal legal support.
