An IndiGo flight flying from Kuwait to Telangana’s Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai on Tuesday. Authorities received a threat message warning of a bomb onboard the flight. The alert arrived through an email sent to Delhi airport, according to a News18 report.
After the threat was reported, officials decided not to allow the plane to continue to Hyderabad. Instead, they guided it to land safely in Mumbai for precautionary checks.
Emergency measures at Mumbai airport
Security agencies moved quickly after confirmation of the diversion. Emergency responders and security teams stayed on full standby at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. They prepared for the arrival of the aircraft, which was operating under the callsign 6E1234.
Officials followed standard emergency procedures to ensure the safety of passengers and crew as the aircraft approached for an emergency landing.

The aircraft involved in the incident was an Airbus A321-251NX. Flight tracking data from FlightRadar24 showed that the plane departed from Kuwait at 1:56 am. It later landed safely in Mumbai at 8:10 am.
At the time of reporting, IndiGo had not yet issued any official statement regarding the incident.
