A 25-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by two men inside a moving vehicle in Haryana’s Faridabad. The accused later threw her onto the road, police said on Wednesday. The two men have been arrested, and the vehicle used in the crime has been recovered, according to PTI.
Police said the accused are originally from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. However, they currently live in Faridabad.
Incident Took Place Late at Night
The incident happened late on Monday night. The woman was returning home from a friend’s house but could not find transport. She was waiting at Metro Chowk to reach Kalyanpuri Chowk.
Yashpal Yadav, public relations officer of Faridabad police, told Hindustan Times that the woman got delayed because she could not find any conveyance.
Around midnight, the two men arrived at Metro Chowk in a Maruti Suzuki Eeco van. They offered the woman a lift, police said.
Assault on Gurugram–Faridabad Road
According to the woman’s sister, the accused “took her away towards the Gurugram-Faridabad Road and gang-raped her”.
Investigators said the men later pushed the woman out of the moving van between 3 am and 4 am near Raja Chowk. She suffered serious head injuries. The accused then fled the spot.
Victim Found Injured on Roadside
Police said the woman somehow managed to call her sister for help. She was found injured on the roadside soon after.
Investigators said she was taken to Badshah Khan Hospital for treatment. Doctors are treating her injuries, and police said she is not yet in a condition to record her statement.
FIR Filed Under Multiple Sections
Based on the sister’s complaint, police registered an FIR on Tuesday evening at Kotwali police station. The case was filed under Section 70(1) for gang rape of an adult woman, Section 351(3) for criminal intimidation, and Section 3(5) for common intention of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Accused Arrested, Probe Continues
Police took the two accused into custody on Tuesday. Officers questioned them to verify details and reconstruct the sequence of events. Yashpal Yadav earlier said the accused “will be formally arrested on Wednesday”. The investigation is ongoing.
