Trump Urges Iranians to ‘Keep Protesting, Take Over Institutions’, Says ‘Help Is on Its Way’
US President Donald Trump openly backed Iranian protesters, urging them to keep protesting and take over institutions while promising that help is on its way.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday publicly encouraged protesters in Iran to continue their demonstrations. He told them to “Keep protesting” and assured them that “help is on its way,” signaling strong support for the ongoing anti-government movement.

However, Trump did not clearly explain whether the United States would directly intervene in Iran, which is facing one of its most serious protest movements in recent years.

Trump Meetings With Iran Cancelled

Trump said he has cancelled all meetings with Iranian officials in response to the violent crackdown on protesters. His statement came as unrest continues to spread across the country.

He delivered a strong message through a social media post, directly addressing protesters and urging them to challenge the system.

“Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING — TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!! Save the names of the killers and abusers. They will pay a big price. I have cancelled all meetings with Iranian Officials until the senseless killing of protesters STOPS,” Trump said, adding, “HELP IS ON ITS WAY”.

Protests Turn Deadly Across Iran

Iran has been witnessing nationwide protests for nearly two weeks. The unrest began after the country’s currency sharply lost value, worsening economic hardship for ordinary citizens.

According to reports, around 2,000 people have been killed so far. The death toll includes both protesters and security personnel, highlighting the scale and intensity of the violence.

Tariffs and Pressure on Iran

Trump’s latest comments followed his announcement on Monday of new economic penalties against Iran. He said the United States would impose a 25 percent import tariff on goods from any country that continues to do business with Iran.

The move is aimed at increasing economic pressure on Tehran and isolating it internationally.

Military Action Also an Option

Trump has also warned that stronger measures remain on the table. He said the US is considering additional military action to punish Iran over its handling of the protests.

Earlier this month, Trump used strong language to underline his stance, saying, “we are locked and loaded.”

Tensions Continue to Rise

Trump’s remarks and policy moves mark a sharp escalation in rhetoric against the Iranian government. At the same time, they signal open backing for protesters who are demanding change amid economic distress and political repression.

As protests continue and international pressure grows, the situation in Iran remains volatile, with global attention focused on what steps the US may take next.
