ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026: Seifert and Allen Power New Zealand to Dominant Victory Over UAE
New Zealand crushed the UAE by 10 wickets as Seifert and Allen powered an easy chase after a strong bowling effort.

New Zealand thrashed the UAE by 10 wickets in the 11th match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The UAE decided to bat first after winning the toss. They put 173/6 on the scoreboard in 20 overs with the help of blazing knocks by Muhammad Waseem and Alishan Sharafu. Matt Henry (2/37 in 4 overs) was the most successful bowler for New Zealand. Jacob Duffy, Lockie Ferguson, Mitchell Santner, and Glenn Phillips also took one wicket each.

While chasing, New Zealand cruised to the target with 28 balls to spare. Tim Seifert and Finn Allen gave a flying start to New Zealand. Both of them picked the UAE bowlers at will. This was the second straight win for New Zealand.

New Zealand is playing very well at present. They played three ODIs and five T20Is in India a few days before the World Cup. Their batsmen are well aware of the pitches and have adapted to the conditions. New Zealand has depth in both batting and bowling.

UAE, on the other hand, does not have enough experience in international cricket. Muhammad Waseem and Alishan Sharafu batted well, but they did not get support from the bowlers. A total of 175 runs is not bad by T20 standards, but the bowlers need to take wickets to defend it. UAE needs to work hard on their bowling to stay in the race. Be ready for more action.
