ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2026: Italy Storms to 10-Wicket Win Over Nepal at Wankhede
Italy thrashed Nepal by 10 wickets in Mumbai, chasing 124 in just 12.4 overs to keep their qualification hopes alive in the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2026.

Italy crushed Nepal by 10 wickets in the 17th match of the ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup 2026 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Nepal managed to score 123 runs in 19.3 overs after they were invited to bat first.

Crishan Kalugamage (3/18 in 4 overs) and Benjamin Manenti (2/9 in 4 overs) demolished Nepal’s batting lineup and also put brakes on the scoring rate. Jaspreet Singh, JJ Smuts, and Ali Hasan, who took one wicket each, supported them well.

The only point of relief for Nepal in the match was the second-wicket partnership of 41 runs between Aasif Sheikh and Rohit Paudel, followed by another 44-run stand for the fourth wicket between Dipendra Singh Airee and Aarif Sheikh. Aarif Sheikh remained the highest scorer for Nepal.

While chasing, Anthony Mosca and Justin Mosca gave Italy a blazing and solid start. Italy cruised to the target in just 12.4 overs without losing a wicket. Anthony Mosca and Justin Mosca hit blazing half-centuries in the chase, and both remained unbeaten. Anthony Mosca scored 62 runs off 32 balls, while Justin Mosca scored 60 runs off 44 balls.

With this win, Italy keeps its chances alive of advancing to the next stage, while Nepal needs to win all the remaining matches by a good margin, as this loss has also badly affected their run rate.

Brief Scorecard

Aarif  Sheikh 27(24), Rohit Paudel 23(14), Aasif Sheikh 20(20);
Crishan Kalugamage 3/18(4), Benjamin Manenti 2/9(4)

Player of the Match: Crishan Kalugamage

Italy outclassed Nepal in all departments of the game. Nepal’s batting, which looked good against England, was badly demolished by Benjamin Manenti and Crishan Kalugamage. Small contributions from Aasif Sheikh, Aarif Sheikh, Rohit Paudel, and Dipendra Singh Airee helped Nepal reach a respectable total, but it proved too little against the aggressive batting of Italian openers Anthony Mosca and Justin Mosca.

Nepal now needs to work hard in every department of the game, as their net run rate has also been badly affected by this loss. Get ready for more action. Stay tuned with JUSZNEWS for regular updates!
