ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026: West Indies Crush Nepal by 9 Wickets to Seal Super Eight Spot
A dominant bowling display and a composed half-century helped the West Indies cricket team defeat the Nepal national cricket team by nine wickets in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 to secure a Super Eight spot.

West Indies crushed Nepal by 9 wickets in the 25th match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at Wankhede Stadium. Nepal managed to score 133/8 in 20 overs against the disciplined and tight bowling of West Indies. Dipendra Singh Airee played a superb knock of 58 runs off 47 balls under pressure, while Sompal Kami contributed a useful cameo of 26 runs off 15 balls. Jason Holder (4/27 in 4 overs) was the most successful bowler for West Indies.

While chasing, Brandon King and Shai Hope gave West Indies a flying start. Hope played a superb knock of 61 runs off 44 balls and guided West Indies to the finish line comfortably with 28 balls to spare. Shimron Hetmyer supported Hope well, contributing to a 91-run partnership for the second wicket. Shai Hope remained unbeaten on 61 runs off 44 balls, while Hetmyer was unbeaten on 46 runs off 32 balls. With this win, West Indies confirmed their spot in the Super Eight round.
