Trump Warns Iran After US Navy Destroyers Come Under Attack
US President Donald Trump claimed US destroyers crossed the Strait of Hormuz under Iranian fire without damage, while fresh clashes raised new fears over the fragile US-Iran ceasefire.

US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that three American Navy destroyers successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz despite coming under attack.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump claimed the US warships escaped without damage while Iranian forces suffered heavy losses during the confrontation.

“Three World Class American Destroyers just transited, very successfully, out of the Strait of Hormuz, under fire. There was no damage done to the three Destroyers, but great damage done to the Iranian attackers,” Trump wrote.

Trump Warns Iran of More Strikes

Trump also warned Iran of stronger military action if Tehran refused to quickly agree to a deal with Washington. "We'll knock them out a lot harder, and a lot more violently, in the future, if they don't get their Deal signed, FAST!" he added.

His remarks came shortly after the US military confirmed that it had launched strikes on Iranian military positions following attacks on three American destroyers in the Strait of Hormuz.

However, Iran rejected the US version of events and accused Washington of carrying out the first strike.

Fresh Clashes Raise Ceasefire Concerns

The latest confrontation increased fears over the fragile ceasefire that began on April 8 after weeks of US and Israeli military operations against Iran.

Iranian military officials claimed that US forces attacked two vessels entering the Strait of Hormuz and also carried out strikes inside Iranian territory.

Meanwhile, the US military insisted that its actions were defensive and came in response to Iranian attacks.

Since the ceasefire started on April 7, both countries have exchanged fire several times, keeping tensions high in the region.

Iran Accuses US of Violating Truce

Iran’s joint military command accused the United States of breaking the ceasefire by targeting an Iranian oil tanker and another vessel.

Iran also alleged that US forces carried out airstrikes on civilian areas on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, along with nearby coastal areas of Bandar Khamir and Sirik on the mainland.

According to Iranian military officials, Tehran responded by targeting US military ships east of the Strait of Hormuz and south of the port city of Chabahar.

Nuclear Talks Still Unresolved

The latest escalation came while Washington waited for Tehran’s response to a US proposal aimed at ending the conflict.

However, major disagreements still remain, especially over Iran’s nuclear programme, which continues to be one of the biggest obstacles in talks between the two countries.
