Iran’s Top Negotiator Meets Pakistan Army Chief Amid Regional Peace Efforts
Iran and Pakistan intensified regional peace efforts as Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf held high-level talks with Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir in Tehran.

Iran’s Parliament Speaker and top negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf met Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir in Tehran on Saturday as regional diplomatic efforts intensified to ease tensions and strengthen a possible peace framework.

According to Reuters, citing Iranian state media, the high-level discussions formed part of a broader and coordinated diplomatic initiative aimed at preventing further escalation in the region.

During his visit to Tehran, General Asim Munir also held separate talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The back-to-back meetings highlighted the growing urgency among regional powers to push for stability and avoid renewed hostilities.

Iranian President, Foreign Minister Attend Key Talks

The meeting between General Munir and President Pezeshkian took place in the presence of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Their participation underlined the political as well as military importance of the ongoing diplomatic discussions.

The high-level engagement reflected close coordination between Iran’s leadership and Pakistan’s military establishment during the sensitive phase of regional negotiations.

Pakistan Plays Active Role in Regional Mediation

The diplomatic engagement also highlighted Pakistan’s active role in facilitating dialogue between conflicting sides. Islamabad has been attempting to bridge differences and support efforts aimed at maintaining peace and preventing further instability in the region.

During the discussions, Ghalibaf and General Munir reviewed current peace proposals and examined key geopolitical concerns affecting the region. The talks mainly focused on maritime stability, regional security arrangements and other sensitive strategic issues that could influence broader peace efforts.

The series of meetings between Pakistan’s military leadership and Iran’s top executive and legislative officials signaled the seriousness of the ongoing diplomatic process. The engagements in Tehran also demonstrated increasing regional coordination as both countries continue discussions on security cooperation, peace initiatives and long-term regional stability.
