Union Minister and BJP national president JP Nadda on Monday said the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) approached the government for talks for the first time since its protest began. Following the meeting, he appealed to the protesters to end their sit-in and help restore normalcy.
The discussions took place as thousands of CJP supporters gathered in Delhi during the party's 'Chalo Sansad' march, demanding examination reforms and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Government and CJP Hold First Formal Meeting
Speaking about the development, Nadda said the government began discussions after receiving a proposal from the protesters earlier in the day. "This morning, for the first time, a proposal came from the protesters to hold talks with the government, and our discussions have been ongoing since 11:50 AM."

He described the meeting as constructive and said both sides held detailed discussions.
CJP Submits Written Petition
According to Nadda, the CJP delegation also handed over a written petition outlining its demands. "The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere. An initial verbal discussion was held in detail with their delegation, and they submitted a written petition to me around 4 PM," he said.
The meeting marked the first official engagement between the Centre and the protest group since the agitation intensified.
Nadda Appeals to Protesters to End Agitation
After the talks, Nadda urged the protesters to call off their demonstration and cooperate with authorities. "I have requested all the protesters to end their sit-in and assist the administration in restoring normalcy," he added.
The government has not yet announced any decision on the demands submitted by the CJP.
Protest Continues Despite Talks
The meeting took place while thousands of CJP supporters attempted to march towards Parliament under the party's 'Chalo Sansad' campaign. The protesters are demanding reforms in the examination system following the alleged NEET paper leak, along with the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Although talks were initiated, the protest continued across parts of the national capital.
Heavy Security Across Delhi
The large-scale demonstration prompted a strong security response from Delhi Police. Authorities deployed heavy police personnel, erected barricades at several locations and detained protesters during attempts to move towards Parliament.
Police also carried out a lathi-charge in some areas to disperse crowds, while traffic movement was affected across parts of central Delhi.
CJP Leaders Meet JP Nadda
CJP spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka represented the organisation during the meeting with Nadda at his residence on Monday afternoon. According to the CJP, the government contacted the party earlier in the day to begin dialogue.
Before heading to the meeting, Saurav Das shared a message on X, saying, "Ashutosh Ranka and I, on behalf of the Cockroach Janta Party, are on our way to meet JP Nadda. The government had reached out for talks in the morning. Our demands are clear. The youth have gathered in huge numbers."
Talks Mark New Phase in Ongoing Protest
The meeting represents the first formal communication between the Centre and the CJP since the protest campaign gained momentum. While both sides have now opened a channel for dialogue, the protesters continue to press for examination reforms and action over the alleged failures in the education system, leaving the outcome of the negotiations uncertain.
