At least 22 people died in fresh attacks across Russia and Ukraine on Monday, officials from both countries said. The strikes killed civilians on both sides, including children.

Russia reported deaths in Krasnodar, Crimea and Belgorod. Ukraine confirmed civilian deaths in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. The attacks came as fighting continued across several frontlines. Russia also claimed fresh territorial gains in eastern Ukraine, while Kyiv continued to seek more military support from the United States.

Russia Reports Civilian Deaths in Three Regions

Russian officials reported deadly attacks in several regions. Veniamin Kondratyev, governor of the Krasnodar region, said drone debris fell on the resort village of Arkhipo-Osipovka near Gelendzhik. The incident killed seven people, including three children, and injured nearly 40 others.

Kondratyev shared the update on Telegram. In Crimea, Moscow-appointed governor Sergey Aksyonov said the death toll rose to four. He added that two other people suffered injuries.

In the Belgorod region, acting governor Alexander Shuvaev said attacks near the border killed four civilians and injured 17 others.

Russian Strike Kills Civilians in Ukraine

Ukraine also reported deadly Russian attacks. A Russian strike hit a petrol station in the Kryvyi Rih district of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The attack killed three people, including an emergency response worker and his eight-year-old son.

Regional Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said the strike sparked a fire that damaged the petrol station and several nearby vehicles. In a separate overnight attack, Russian strikes killed eight people, including two children, in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Civilian Death Toll Continues to Rise

Both Russia and Ukraine deny deliberately targeting civilians. However, the number of civilian casualties has continued to increase as both sides intensify missile and drone attacks.

Zelenskyy Seeks More US Support

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy continues to seek stronger military support from the United States. Last week, he met US President Donald Trump at the White House. After the meeting, Zelenskyy described the talks as “good”.

He wants additional US support to strengthen Ukraine's air defence systems. He also discussed the issue with US Vice President JD Vance during a phone call on Friday.

However, Trump has since appeared to step back from his earlier promise to allow Ukraine to manufacture Patriot interceptor missiles under licence. The move has raised fresh questions about future US military support for Ukraine.
