At least two people lost their lives and 10 others were injured after a shooting at Debsirin School in Bang Kruai district of Thailand's Nonthaburi province on Friday morning, according to local media reports.

Shooting Reported Around 10am

The incident took place at around 10am when volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation received emergency reports about gunfire inside the school premises. Rescue teams and police quickly rushed to the scene after receiving the alert.

Suspect Believed to Be a Student

Initial reports suggest that the suspected gunman is a student of the school. According to the Bangkok Post, the suspect locked himself inside the third floor of the school's pink building after the shooting.

Police surrounded the area and launched an operation while emergency responders worked to assist the injured and secure the campus.

Authorities have not released a final casualty count. Lieutenant Colonel Pasakorn Chaitawiwong, who heads the Plai Bang subdistrict police department, said officials were still verifying the number of people killed in the attack.
