India Women crushed Hong Kong China Women by 137 runs in the seventh match of the Women's Asia Cup 2026 in Dubai. After being asked to bat first, India Women posted a huge total of 193/5 in 20 overs, with the help of a blazing century from Smriti Mandhana. Mandhana scored 124 runs off 64 balls. Marina Lamplough (2/46 in 4 overs) was the most successful bowler for Hong Kong China Women.

In reply, Hong Kong China Women were bowled out for 56. They lost their last five wickets for just two runs in 10 balls. Deepti Sharma (3/9 in 3 overs) was the most successful bowler for India Women, while Nandani Sharma, Prema Rawat and Shree Charani also took two wickets each. With this win, India Women advance to the next round.

India Begin Carefully

India did not start the innings at a rapid pace. They reached 38 without losing a wicket after five overs. The batters initially took time to understand the slow pace offered by Hong Kong's bowlers.

Mandhana handled most of the strike during the opening overs. Shafali Verma faced only six deliveries in the first five overs. Hong Kong were pleased with their disciplined start because India had not yet been able to score freely.

Shafali Changes the Momentum

The game changed when Shafali attacked Marina Lamplough. After conceding only seven runs in her first over, the offspinner was taken apart by Shafali in her next over. Shafali smashed two fours and two sixes as India collected 22 runs from the over.

Lamplough struggled to maintain the right length and repeatedly bowled deliveries that allowed Shafali to attack. One of her sixes came from a powerful shovel shot over deep midwicket. She followed it with an impressive inside-out loft over deep extra cover.

Shafali's aggressive innings ended in the eighth over when she was dismissed for 28. Ruchita Venkatesh got the wicket, while Marina Lamplough completed an excellent catch after running in from long-on and diving at full stretch. By the time Shafali departed, India's opening pair had added 74 runs.

Mandhana Accelerates Towards a Record Century

Pratika Rawal joined Mandhana at the crease at No. 3. Rawal took some time to adjust to the conditions, allowing Mandhana to remain the main aggressor. Mandhana brought up her half-century from 40 balls. It was her 36th fifty in T20 internationals. She reached the landmark with a flat six over deep square.

Mandhana repeatedly moved towards the off side before using the angle to play powerful shots towards the leg side. Once she crossed fifty, her scoring rate increased sharply. Mandhana scored her second fifty in only 18 balls and suddenly moved within touching distance of another T20I century.

Hong Kong had an opportunity to dismiss her in the 16th over when she was put down at deep square leg off Siu Wai. The missed chance proved costly. Mandhana responded by increasing the pressure and soon completed her century. It was her second T20I hundred and another major milestone in an already remarkable international career.

Mandhana Breaks Mithali Raj's Run Record

Mandhana continued attacking after reaching three figures. In the 18th over, she smashed Ruchita Venkatesh for three sixes in a row. During that same over, she also surpassed Mithali Raj's record for the most runs in women's international cricket. Mandhana's late assault played a major role in India's strong finish.

India scored 107 runs during the second half of their innings, despite losing several wickets during the closing stages. Her century gave India a huge total and left Hong Kong with an extremely difficult target.

Nandani Sharma Continues Her Excellent Form

Nandani Sharma continued her impressive run with the new ball after taking three wickets against Thailand in India's previous match. She bowled with excellent control and generated useful movement off the surface.

Hong Kong struggled to score during the Powerplay and were reduced to 4 for 1 after four overs. Nandani produced the breakthrough by dismissing experienced batter Mariko Hill.

She set up Hill with three consecutive away-swinging deliveries before producing an excellent ball that moved back into the batter. Nandani claimed another wicket later in her spell and finished with excellent figures of 2 for 6 from three overs.

Hong Kong Collapse Under Pressure

Hong Kong never managed to build momentum during their chase. Their best partnership was worth only 27 runs, with Yasmin Daswani and Natasha Miles putting together those runs for the second wicket. The two batters adopted a cautious approach and focused on spending time at the crease rather than taking risks.

However, the partnership ended when Daswani tried to hit Deepti Sharma towards the leg side. Bharti Fulmali produced a superb effort at midwicket, leaping to complete the catch. Six balls later, Miles also departed.

She attempted to cut a sharp delivery from Prema Rawat but edged the ball behind to wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh. Those two wickets opened the floodgates. India's spinners tightened the pressure and continued taking wickets at regular intervals. Hong Kong's batters struggled to deal with the variety and accuracy of India's bowling attack.

Eight Hong Kong batters failed to score in double figures, while the highest individual score was only 15. The collapse became even more severe at the end. Hong Kong lost their final five wickets in just 11 deliveries, falling from 54/5 to 56 all out. India therefore completed a huge 137-run victory.
