Witness Describes Panic Inside Spirit Halloween Store

A witness shared an account of the frightening moments inside the Spirit Halloween store with KCRA 3. He said his wife was inside the shop when she heard gunfire and noticed people rushing to escape. “I think she told that there was like five, six, seven shots when people were running,” the witness said. His account provided an early indication of the fear and confusion that spread through the store as shoppers and employees tried to get away from the gunfire. Fairfield Mayor Rick Vaccaro also confirmed the shooting to CBS Sacramento. However, he said he did not have confirmed information about the number of people injured at the time. Suisun City Mayor Alma Hernandez described the incident as a multiple-victim shooting and called on the community to support those affected by the violence. “Please join us in praying for the victims and their families, and for the officers working to bring the suspect into custody,” Hernandez said. She further stressed the importance of community support following the incident. Hernandez said residents would need to come together to help the victims, their families and everyone affected by the shooting once the immediate police operation had concluded.
