Rashmika Mandanna Faced Language Challenges in Animal, Reveals Co-Star Indira Krishnan
Indira Krishnan revealed that Rashmika Mandanna "sometimes struggled with Hindi" during Animal but managed her role "very beautifully."

Actor Indira Krishnan, who has appeared in films like Tere Naam and Holiday, and starred in TV shows like Krishnaben Khakhrawala and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, recently shared her experience of working with Rashmika Mandanna in Animal. Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, she revealed that Rashmika faced difficulties with Hindi while filming, but still performed gracefully.

Indira praised both Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika, saying they were “both very lovely.” She added, “I would give Ranbir full points.” Although she interacted with him only briefly during Animal, she explained, “we had a lot more interaction during Ramayana.” Talking about Rashmika, she called her “very sweet, very down-to-earth, and genuinely herself.” Indira felt that “who she is can be clearly seen on her face.”

She also mentioned that Rashmika had a curious and positive nature. “Ranbir and I used to talk about the universe, manifestation, and similar topics,” she said, and added that “Rashmika also actively joined in those conversations.” Indira described her as “a very positive girl” who was “eager to learn.” She admitted that “sometimes Rashmika struggled with Hindi during Animal,” but emphasized that “she did it very beautifully.”

What Animal Was About

Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, came out in 2023. It featured Ranbir Kapoor in a dark, intense role and focused on the emotional conflict between a father and son. Anil Kapoor played the emotionally distant father, while Rashmika and Triptii Dimri had key roles.

Though the film sparked debate over its violent scenes and portrayal of toxic masculinity, it became a massive hit. It earned over ₹900 crore at the global box office. A sequel, titled Animal Park, has been announced and will once again star Ranbir. Filming has not begun yet.

What’s Next for Indira Krishnan

Indira is now working on Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. In the film, Ranbir Kapoor will play Lord Rama, Yash will portray Ravana, and Sai Pallavi will take on the role of Sita. Sunny Deol will be seen as Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.

The film, produced by Namit Malhotra, will be released in two parts. One will arrive on Diwali 2026 and the second on Diwali 2027.
