A religious gathering in Sabhra village, Tarn Taran, turned tragic on Sunday when the roof of a house collapsed. The incident resulted in one death and over 20 injuries.

Victim Identified

The deceased was Gurpreet Singh from Harike. Many of the injured, including women and children, were taken to the Patti civil hospital for treatment.

Cause of Collapse

The gathering took place at the home of Harbhajan Singh. Attendees were on the roof, which was made of wooden slabs and iron. The roof could not support the weight, and it suddenly gave way. Several people were trapped under the debris.

Rescue Efforts

Local authorities quickly responded to the incident. Five ambulances and emergency teams were dispatched. Local residents and officials worked together to rescue the trapped victims.

Investigation Underway

Authorities are investigating the cause of the collapse. The safety of such events is now under scrutiny. Harbhajan Singh and others are cooperating with the investigation.
