TATA Women’s Premier League 2026 to Begin on January 9
The fourth season of the TATA Women’s Premier League will begin in January 2026, with online ticket sales opening on December 26.

The TATA Women’s Premier League 2026 is set to begin, and fans can now prepare to book their seats. Online ticket sales will open on December 26, allowing supporters to plan ahead for the fourth edition of the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed District as the official ticketing partner for the upcoming season.

Tournament to Be Played Across Two Cities

This season, the WPL will take place across two venues. Matches will be hosted at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai and the BCA Stadium in Vadodara.

The tournament will start on January 9, 2026. On that day, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in Navi Mumbai. As a result, the season will begin with a blockbuster contest.

Navi Mumbai to Host Opening Phase

Initially, the league will be played in Navi Mumbai. The first leg will feature 11 matches, scheduled from January 9 to January 17. After the Navi Mumbai leg ends, the tournament will move to Vadodara for the next phase.

Vadodara to Host Final Matches and Playoffs

Subsequently, Vadodara will host the remaining 11 matches, including all playoff fixtures, at the BCA Stadium. Therefore, the city will play a crucial role in deciding the finalists and the eventual champion.

Five Teams to Compete for the Title

Along with RCB and Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, UP Warriorz, and Gujarat Giants will compete in the 2026 season. As the tournament progresses, each team will aim to build momentum and secure a place in the playoffs.

Player Auction Generates High Interest

Earlier, the player auction held in New Delhi generated major excitement. A total of 277 players, including 194 Indians and 83 overseas players, entered the auction pool.

Since teams were competing for 73 available slots, bidding became intense throughout the event.

Deepti Sharma Tops Auction as Healy Goes Unsold

As a result of the fierce bidding, India all-rounder Deepti Sharma emerged as the most expensive player. She joined UP Warriorz for Rs 3.2 crore, making headlines.

However, Australian star Alyssa Healy went unsold, which surprised fans and experts alike.
