Pakistan will not play the group-stage match against India at the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The Government of Pakistan announced the decision on Sunday, February 1.

Government Clears Team With One Condition

The government approved Pakistan’s participation in the ICC World T20 2026. However, it ruled out the match against India.

“The Government of Islamic Republic of Pakistan grants approval to the Pakistan cricket team to participate in the ICC World T20 2026. However, the Pakistan cricket team shall not take the field in the match scheduled on 15th February, 2026 against India,” the government said.

India-Pakistan Clash Set for February 15

The T20 World Cup will start on February 7. India and Pakistan were scheduled to meet on February 15 in Colombo. Pakistan’s decision removes one of the tournament’s most anticipated group-stage matches.
