Moving from Bollywood to Hollywood without any guarantee of success is a major gamble. However, Priyanka Chopra chose to take that risk. She left her strong position in the Hindi film industry and built a career internationally through discipline, confidence and persistence. Her journey shows ambition, resilience and deep self-belief.
Priyanka Chopra’s Journey From Bollywood Star to Global Icon
Priyanka Chopra first ruled Bollywood with several successful films. Later, she shifted her focus to international projects and entered Hollywood. At that time, very few Indian actors had attempted such a move. Even without certainty of success, she pushed forward and created her own space on the global platform.
At the same time, Priyanka Chopra used her influence to promote women’s empowerment. She regularly encourages young girls to develop confidence and independence early in life.
Priyanka Chopra Says Girls Must Be Fierce and Confident
In an interview with India Today, Priyanka Chopra stressed the importance of raising strong girls. “It’s very important for girls to be fierce," she said. She further added, “It’s very important for us to find agency and our voice very early. We need to be surrounded by confidence."
She is now preparing for her upcoming Hollywood action thriller The Bluff, which will premiere on Prime Video on February 25. While speaking about the film, she described a powerful moment that combines strength and emotion.
In a high-intensity fight sequence, her character Ercell Bloody Mary Bodden pauses to reassure her child and says, “Mama is okay." Through this scene, Priyanka Chopra highlights that strength and vulnerability can exist together.
Priyanka Chopra Credits Her Father for Her Fearless Attitude
Priyanka Chopra shared that her bold personality developed at home. She recalled, “My dad used to always tell me to be the fiercest one in the room, and not be afraid if someone tells you that you’re too fierce, because that’s what happens to girls."
She also spoke about gender bias in society. “We are told we are too tenacious, too ambitious, too fierce, too intelligent, but men are called like, what a boss," she said.
Although such double standards frustrate her, Priyanka Chopra uses them as motivation to speak strongly about equality and confidence for women.
Priyanka Chopra Encourages Girls to Stand Up for Themselves
Priyanka Chopra explained that she depends on her inner strength, especially during uncertain times. “So whether I’m unsure about where I’m going, I always try to have a belief in me, and I think that’s the fierceness you’re talking about, and I advocate that for girls everywhere," she said.
She also acknowledged the challenges women face daily. “We live in a world where if you don’t stand up for yourself and set the tone, it might be very hard for other people to stand up for you, unfortunately."
Through her experiences and words, Priyanka Chopra continues to inspire young girls to be bold, confident and fearless in chasing their dreams.
