Iran Envoy in India Says Nation Will ‘Win or Reach Martyrdom’ in War
Iran’s envoy in India said the country will not surrender in the conflict with the US and Israel and will either achieve victory or embrace martyrdom.

Iran’s ambassador to India, Mohammad Fathali, said on Saturday that the Iranian people will not back down in the conflict with the United States and Israel. He said Iran will continue to fight despite the escalating military confrontation.

“We, the people of Iran, clearly declare that on this path we will either achieve victory or reach martyrdom. For us, both are honour and happiness,” Fathali said, according to ANI.

Religious leaders voice support for Iran

Several religious leaders also expressed support for Iran. Shia cleric Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawad Naqvi said Iran will not surrender even under global pressure.

“The believers of Karbala cannot surrender ever, even if they die… Iran stands alone against the world,” he said. He added that supporters are ready to fight if the law allows it.

Iran says it is defending itself

Dr Abdul Majid Hakeem Ilahi, a representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in India, said Iran had no choice but to defend itself.

“No one wants this situation… We were attacked by the United States. We have to defend ourselves. We sacrifice for our dignity, morality and independence,” he said. He also spoke about the long ties between Iran and India.

"I am sure the future will be better for Iran. The relationship and friendship between Iran and India started 3000 years ago. I am sure our relationship will continue," he added.

Conflict escalates after Khamenei’s killing

The conflict intensified after the United States and Israel launched joint strikes on Iran last week. The attacks killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and many others.

Iran responded with missile and drone attacks across the region. The fighting has caused thousands of deaths. It has also disrupted flights across the Gulf.

Iran signals willingness to reduce tensions

Amid the crisis, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian apologised to neighbouring countries. He said Iran will suspend attacks on neighbouring states unless those countries launch attacks on Iran.

Pezeshkian also said some countries have started mediation efforts. However, he stressed that Iran will continue to defend its “dignity and authority.”
