Police Recover Gelatin Sticks Near Route of PM Modi in Bengaluru
Police recovered gelatin sticks near the route of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bengaluru, triggering a major security scare and an intensified investigation.

A major security alert emerged on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Sunday after police recovered gelatin sticks near the route planned for Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the city.

The explosives were found near Thathaguni in Kaggalipura, close to the route expected to be used by the Prime Minister’s convoy. Following the discovery, police detained one person and began questioning him at a secret location. Authorities have also registered an FIR in the case.

Senior police officials, including a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), are supervising the investigation.

Police Detain Suspect After Threat Call

According to reports, police detained the suspect from a house near Koramangala. Investigators are now trying to find out why the gelatin sticks were kept near the Prime Minister’s route, who supplied them, and whether someone instructed the accused to place them there.

Police are also questioning the suspect’s parents as part of the investigation.

The case reportedly surfaced after the accused allegedly made a phone call to the Koramangala police station early Sunday morning. During the call, he warned that explosions would take place near HAL and the Art of Living Foundation centre.

Search Operation Launched After Warning

After receiving the alert, police teams immediately launched search operations in both locations mentioned by the caller.

Officials did not find anything suspicious near HAL. However, during checks around the Art of Living area, police recovered gelatin sticks. Following the discovery, officers took the caller into custody for detailed questioning.

Suspect Had Made Similar Threat Calls Earlier

During interrogation, investigators reportedly found that the detained man had made similar threat calls in the past whenever VIPs visited Bengaluru.

Police had earlier detained and questioned him several times. However, he was later released after authorities found that he was suffering from mental health issues, according to reports.

Recovery of Explosives Raises Serious Concerns

This time, however, the recovery of actual gelatin sticks after the threat call has made the case more serious and prompted a wider investigation.

Police suspect that at least two gelatin sticks were thrown near a compound wall beside a bridge located along the Prime Minister’s route.

Investigators are now trying to determine whether the accused himself planted the explosives or whether other individuals were involved in the act.

Possible Link to Opposition Against Art of Living

Investigators are also examining another angle in the case. Police suspect that the gelatin sticks may have been placed by individuals opposed to the Art of Living Foundation organisation.

According to reports, security agencies detected the explosives before the Prime Minister’s movement in the area. Authorities acted quickly to remove any possible threat and tighten security arrangements.

Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
