India enjoyed another successful day at the Commonwealth Games on Saturday, winning one gold, one silver and one bronze medal in athletics. India also celebrated a one-two finish in the event as Shubham Juyal won the silver medal with his season-best effort of 13.28m. Cameroon's Cedric Azamdzi finished third with a throw of 12.57m to claim the bronze medal.

Praveen Chitravel Bags Triple Jump Silver

Asian Games bronze medallist Praveen Chitravel began India's medal rush with a strong performance in the men's triple jump. He improved on his previous Commonwealth Games result in Glasgow by winning the silver medal with a best jump of 16.58m. Chitravel narrowly missed the gold as Jamaica's Jordan Scott topped the event with a jump of 16.72m.

Selva Prabhu Wins First Major International Medal

India's Selva Prabhu Thirumaran also impressed in the men's triple jump. He recorded a leap of 16.52m to secure the bronze medal, finishing just behind Chitravel. The podium finish marked Selva Prabhu's first major medal at the international level and highlighted India's strong performance in the event.

Ramesh Shanmugam Finishes Seventh

In the para athletics competition, Ramesh Shanmugam competed in the men's T54 1500m final. He finished seventh after clocking 3:23.59, missing out on a podium finish.

Priyanka Goswami Misses Out Despite Season's Best

India faced disappointment in the women's 10,000m race walk. Priyanka Goswami finished seventh despite producing a season-best timing of 45:53.93. Meanwhile, fellow Indian athlete Ravina was disqualified from the event, ending India's hopes of a medal in race walking.
