IPL 2025 | GT vs DC: Delhi Eye Sixth Win as Gujarat Look to Bounce Back at Home
Gujarat Titans face table-toppers Delhi Capitals in a high-stakes IPL 2025 clash at Ahmedabad, with both teams aiming for the top spot.

Gujarat Titans will take on Delhi Capitals in the 35th match of IPL 2025. The match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both teams are in top form. Gujarat, under Shubman Gill, have won four out of six games. As a result, they are second on the points table. Meanwhile, Delhi have won five out of six matches. So, they sit comfortably at the top.

Delhi Pulled Off a Super Over Win

Previously, Delhi Capitals almost lost to Rajasthan Royals. However, they fought back and won the match in the Super Over. Mitchell Starc delivered a match-winning performance. He has been one of Delhi’s best players this season. In addition, KL Rahul and Karun Nair have played crucial roles with the bat. Looking ahead, Delhi may replace Jake Fraser-McGurk with Faf du Plessis in the next game.

Gujarat Look to Recover from Recent Loss

Earlier, Gujarat Titans had a four-match winning streak. However, they lost their last game against Lucknow Super Giants. Despite that, the team remains confident. Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler, and Sai Sudharsan have scored heavily at the top. Moreover, bowlers like Prasidh Krishna and Sai Kishore have been consistent. Still, Gujarat hope for better efforts from their middle-order batters.

GT Rely on Top-Order and Bowlers

So far, Gill, Buttler, and Sudharsan have shielded the middle order. In fact, all three have increased their strike rates compared to last season. Once again, Gujarat’s bowling remains their biggest strength. Mohammed Siraj is effective in the powerplay. Prasidh Krishna handles the middle overs well. Meanwhile, R Sai Kishore has stepped up as Rashid Khan struggles to make an impact.

DC Have Advantage in Ahmedabad

Interestingly, Delhi Capitals have won both their matches against Gujarat in Ahmedabad. One was on red soil, the other on black soil.

Unlike other teams, Gujarat help prepare the pitch. Therefore, they might try to create conditions that favor their bowlers. Since both teams have strong pace and spin attacks, the pitch could decide the outcome.

If Delhi win, they will stay on top. On the other hand, if Gujarat win, they could move to the top spot too.

Team Updates

The pitch will decide whether Washington Sundar or Kulwant Khejroliya makes the playing XI. Meanwhile, Dasun Shanaka has joined the GT squad as a replacement for the injured Glenn Phillips. However, he may not be available for this match. Also, there is no update yet on Kagiso Rabada’s return to the DC squad.

Head-to-Head Record

So far, Delhi Capitals have won three of their five matches against Gujarat Titans. However, GT will look to level the record, especially at their home ground.

Pitch and Weather Conditions

Typically, the Ahmedabad pitch helps batters. Therefore, fans can expect a high-scoring match. Since it’s a day game, bowling first might be the best choice. Batting becomes easier under the lights. A score of 220 or more could be competitive.

As for the weather, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for a heatwave in Ahmedabad. Temperatures could go above 40°C. Humidity will also be high. Still, skies are expected to stay clear. So, the match should continue without any weather delays.
