After months of speculation, it's now official — Cocktail 2 will begin filming in August 2025. Director Homi Adajania, who also directed the original film, will return to lead this romantic drama. This time, the story features a new lead trio: Kriti Sanon, Shahid Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna.

Meanwhile, the film is being produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, and written by Luv Ranjan. Although the makers have not revealed the plot, they are aiming for a theatrical release in late 2026.

Pre-Production is Underway

Recently, fans got a hint of the upcoming project when Anaita Shroff Adajania, celebrity stylist and Homi’s wife, shared a photo of the Cocktail 2 script on her Instagram Story. Around the same time, Kriti Sanon was seen leaving Maddock Films' Mumbai office, suggesting that preparations are already in full swing.

Kriti, Shahid, and Rashmika Lead the New Story

This film will be Kriti and Shahid's second together after their hit Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024). Additionally, Rashmika Mandanna brings a fresh element to the cast. Therefore, fans are excited to watch this trio's chemistry unfold in a modern take on urban relationships.

The first Cocktail, released in 2012, starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. It gained popularity for its bold take on romance and friendship. Moreover, its music was a hit, and Deepika’s powerful performance helped cement her status as a top actress in Bollywood.

Cast Members Stay Busy with Upcoming Films

Currently, all three leads are busy with other projects. Kriti Sanon just wrapped up Tere Ishk Mein with Dhanush, which is set to release on November 28. Furthermore, rumors suggest she has signed Don 3 opposite Ranveer Singh.

Shahid Kapoor is shooting a period drama directed by Arjun Ustara, co-starring Triptii Dimri and Randeep Hooda. Rashmika Mandanna, last seen in Kuberaa, has several upcoming projects like Mysaa, The Girlfriend, Thama, and Animal Park.
